Right from the start, it appears that there are going to be some problems. The teaser opens with Meghan tearfully sitting in Dr. Proctor’s office. She tells him that she doesn’t appreciate the way he talks to her and makes her feel like she’s failing at weight loss. Dr. Proctor retaliates and asks Meghan if she’s really doing everything in her power to maintain her health. Meghan admits she isn’t, then walks out of the office.

In a talking head, Tina says that Meghan is in a really bad headspace and has reached “meltdown” mode. It’s not a very long teaser, but it gives fans a very good idea of what’s to come this season.

Fans react to the new season’s teaser

It’s clear that Meghan is going to have a rough time maintaining a healthy weight this year. She appears confident on social media, but it seems like it took a long time to develop that healthy headspace. There will likely be more storylines, but this is definitely going to be an important story on the show this season.

“Sounds like she doesn’t like getting called out on her BS. Can’t expect results if you choose to not follow the program. Therapy would probably benefit her as well,” one 1000-Lb. Best Friends fan wrote in the comments.

Lack accountability and self awareness. Stop crying and do what you need to do. Blaming other people is exactly why you at the place you’re at now,” another added.

Meghan did choose to respond to a few comments. In particular, she wanted to emphasize that she takes prescription prednisone for her lung disease, which is definitely making it harder to lose weight. Prednisone has been known to increase a person’s appetite and make weight loss incredibly difficult. Many fans were more sympathetic to Meghan’s struggle once they knew more about her medication.
