Prolific TV Director Terrence O’Hara Dead At 76

Terrence O’Hara, a prolific TV director with a truly impressive resume, has been confirmed dead at the age of 76. His death was confirmed via Instagram by his daughter, Maddie. Within her post, his daughter shared the details of her father’s passing including his cause of death. Sadly, this incredible talent passed away on December 5th after losing his battle with cancer.

Per IMDb, Terrence O’Hara had 56 director credits attached to his resume at the time of his passing. Some of the more noteworthy TV shows on his resume included:

  • Angel 
  • Smallville 
  • NCIS 
  • The Blacklist 
  • Nikita 
  • Lie to Me 

His daughter Maddie penned a very touching tribute regarding his passing. In her heartbreaking post, she admitted she never imagined herself being in a place where she had to write these words. She added that talking about her father passing away felt so “surreal.”

She penned in her emotional post: “I’ve always imagined him walking me down the aisle, watching his grandkids grow up, and getting old at the lake with my mom. But cancers a b**ch, and his life was cut too short.”

He’s been quietly battling for the past 5 years, this whole time, directing, working, fighting, and smiling through it. He was famous for his infectious laugh, his noisy *ss sneeze, his wild sailor mouth on set, his incredible, thoughtful, creative, and brilliant mind…I could go on.”

She added to the conclusion of her somber Instagram update: “Dad- I love you more than you can ever imagine; your support, guidance, and love has given me the world, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I know you’re dancing and directing and laughing up a storm now.”

The internet showers Maddie with support, mourns his passing

Terrence O’Hara’s daughter had a tiny Instagram following. But, that didn’t stop celebrities who had the pleasure of working with him from pouring into the comments with well-wishes. Many tributes and well-wishes were also left for this incredibly talented man on Twitter as well.
