Some assumed the show was canceled since other of History Channel’s other popular shows aired in its place. Ratings have been on a steep decline after the firing of fan-favorite Frank Fritz.

Earlier this month, the network shared that it doesn’t plan to cancel the long-running series. They filed a copyright for new merchandise. The network plans to release a new line of merchandise in time for the holiday season. Some of those items include gift bags, stationery, T-shirts, household items, handbags, backpacks, overnight bags, carry-on bags, tote bags, umbrellas, belts, and more. Season 23 of American Pickers premiered on January 1, 2022, with 1,050,000 viewers. By August 27, the show lost about 300,000 of its viewers.
