Confirming the series’ arrival on Disney+, the head writer took to the Writer’s Guild Of America page and stated that the series will drop sometime in late 2023 or early 2024. Andrew has been associated with MCU for quite some time as reported by CBR.com. He previously worked as a writer on Marvel’s Hawkeye series. Furthermore, he has also penned scripts for sitcoms such as Community and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Ben Kingsley Will Be A Part Of The Wonder Man Series
Although the head writer confirmed the show’s arrival window, there is no confirmation from Marvel itself regarding the release date. While the information should be taken with a pinch of salt, it is confirmed that Aquaman’s Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) will play the lead role in the upcoming series. He was also a part of HBO’s Watchmen series portraying Sister Night’s husband Cal. Additionally, it is also confirmed that Ben Kingsley will return as Trevor Slattery. He was the eccentric actor and fake Mandarin who was cast as comic relief in Shang-Chi and Iron Man 3.
Apart from these confirmed names, reports suggest that Bob Odenkirk and Courteney Cox are also in talks to appear in the Marvel series. However, there is no official announcement yet.
Who Is Wonder Man In Marvel Cinematic Universe?
Wonder Man was first introduced in the comic series Avengers #9 released in 1964 with Jack Kirby, Stan Lee, and Don Heck as the creators. The lesser-known hero also played different roles in the MCU. Although the character started as a supervillain who fought against the Avengers, he eventually turns good. He also becomes the founding member of the West Coast Avengers. In the latest comic arcs, he’s a Hollywood actor and stuntman.

The supervillain turned-hero has also been a part of the MCU for several years ago. However, he was played by another actor. Chopped scenes from Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 included an Earth film festival with posters designed for fake movies starring the fictional actor Simon Williams. He was played by Nathan Fillion.
While it is time before the series premieres on Disney+, fans are excited to see Yahya play the lead character.
