Former Bringing Up Bates star Alyssa Bates Webster is sharing how she really feels about having a baby boy. The soon-to-be mom of five has four daughters and is expecting her first son in the spring. This is a big change for Alyssa, her husband John, and their girls. Fans know they are excited to have another little one on the way, but how does she feel about having a son this time around? In case you missed the news, Alyssa, John, and their daughters had a gender reveal party and learned that this baby is a boy. They are still working on his name but have made some progress on his nursery, which he will share with a couple of his sisters.
While on her way to the Bates family’s Christmas in Tennessee this week, Alyssa had a Q&A session on Instagram and answered many questions about her baby on the way.

One Bringing Up Bates fan asked Alyssa if her family is happy to be having a boy. In response, Alyssa said that she has enjoyed having daughters so far and that she was “completely shocked” that this one is a boy. She mentioned the special bond between mothers and sons and “can’t wait to see how it will be!”
Then, another fan was curious about how Allie, Lexi, Zoey, and Maci feel about having a brother. Alyssa said, “They’re so excited! I think it will take him getting here to truly say what they think. They have never had a brother so they don’t know what that’s like.”
Former Bringing Up Bates Star Spills More Pregnancy Details
Also in this Q&A session, Alyssa Bates took the time to address a few more pregnancy questions. One fan was curious about her due date. Alyssa responded and said that she is due on April 3. However, her doctors said she may end up having the baby in March.
Alyssa also received several questions about her morning sickness. With each pregnancy, she has gotten sicker and sicker. She’s been open about how awful she has been feeling. She said that she’s still sick these days. Then, she explained that she isn’t consistently sick for days, noting, “It comes and goes in waves.”
With her first four pregnancies, she’s only felt better once they were born.
Hopefully, the rest of Alyssa’s pregnancy goes smoothly. The baby boy will arrive in just a few more months, so prepare to be on baby watch.
