‘GMA’ Fans Demand Star-Crossed Lovers Return

GMA fans are demanding that their star-crossed lovers return. TV Shows Ace reported on Monday morning that T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach won’t be on GMA3 this week due to the ongoing affair rumors. They still appeared on the morning show last week amid DailyMail.com’s explosive report about their six-month alleged affair.

Viewers have gotten invested in this story. They were looking forward to seeing T.J. and Amy during their hour of the talk show. When they turned on Good Morning America this morning, they were disappointed. Keep reading to see the reaction to the absent co-hosts.

ABC benches T.J. Holmes & Amy Robach

Apparently, T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach were too much of a “distraction” for the family-friendly show. Even though it could’ve boosted GMA’s ratings, ABC benched them. Amid the news of their alleged affair, the network is letting the co-anchors remain off the show for the time being.

ABC News President Kim Godwin alerted the staff. She made the decision during an editorial meeting on early Monday morning. The talk surrounding T.J. and Amy was too much for the show to handle. This also comes on the heels of the rumors that T.J. was involved in an alleged three-year affair with a GMA producer.

“It’s become an internal and an external distraction, the relationship between two of our colleagues,” Kim Godwin informed an employee on the call, per Courier-Times. “While the relationship is not a violation of company policies, I have taken the last few days to think through what I think is best for our organization. For now, I’m going to take Amy and T.J. off the air while we figure this out.”

ABC and GMA have declined to publicly comment on this matter. The morning show shied away from the scandal. Yet, fans want them to address it. As TV Shows Ace previously reported, fans wanted George Stephanopoulos to interview his fellow co-anchors.

GMA fans want the romantic couple back

There were some GMA fans who wanted the co-hosts fired. Now, there are others who wanted the alleged romantic couple to return. Most of them were missing T.J. and Amy on GMA3. Gio Benitez and Stephanie Ramos will replace them this week. They are a safer bet since they don’t have an alleged tryst or on-screen chemistry.

GMA fans took to Twitter on Monday morning to react to T.J. and Amy’s disappearance. Some of them were bored to tears by Gio and Stephanie. They’re demanding the morning show to bring the flirtatious co-anchors back. Others are defending the controversial TV stars, arguing they did nothing wrong despite allegedly cheating while married to other spouses.

For now, both T.J. and Amy are on indefinite leave. Reports suggest that an investigation has been launched into the workplace. Both of the co-hosts have also gone dark on Instagram, so there’s no way ro fans to keep up with them. T.J. deactivated both his Twitter and Instagram accounts, while Amy deactivated her Instagram.
