These days, Koko Iwasaki has a pretty big fan base. She went on the DWTS tour with the rest of the pros last year and became a first-time pro herself this season. Like many of her castmates, she got her big break on So You Think You Can Dance.

Although it’s been a few years since she competed on SYTYCD, the show will always hold a special place in her heart. It’s also where she met her partner, Chris “Kiki” Nyemchek. Both had a pretty successful run during their season. Koko was the runner-up that year while Kiki finished in fourth place.

But now, the couple is taking a big step in their relationship together. Keep reading to see more.

After several years of dating, Koko and Kiki got engaged this week!

“11/26/22 – Easy ask, easy yes. 🤍” Koko captioned the engagement photos on Instagram. Right away, her DWTS castmates flooded in to leave their congratulations.

There aren’t any details about the wedding available yet, but hopefully Koko and Kiki will share updates with fans once they start the planning stages.

For now, followers will have to stay tuned to see what kind of wedding the dancers will put together. It’s definitely going to be a day to remember!

The newest DWTS pro reflects on her first season as a dancer

It’s clear to see that Koko Iwasaki fits in well with the rest of the Dancing With The Stars cast.

“There’s so many different waves of emotions that hit me and I was so excited, so grateful, so terrified and just overwhelmed,” Koko told Good Morning America during the season. “I felt ready. It’s been, I feel like, a long time coming for me as far as what I’ve wanted to do with my goals and dreams and stuff. It was really full circle for me in so many different ways.”

She competed with Jersey Shore star Vinny Guadagnino. They were eliminated just before the semifinals. Judges agreed Vinny didn’t have a lot of natural dance ability, but Koko wouldn’t trade their partnership for the world.

“It wasn’t so much about the steps, but it was all about the mental connections I can make from his regular life and what he does already to now dancing. It’s kind of like finding a language between us,” she continued. “But it really pays off so much when you see your star be happy after they perform. There’s literally nothing like it.”

Stay tuned for the latest DWTS news and updates!
