‘BIP’ Reunion Spoilers: Rodney Confronts Eliza
Rodney Mathews made a great first impression on everyone and when Eliza Isichei broke up with him the whole beach cried. As one fan commented, “I love Rodney, but why is everyone acting like he straight up died?” She had initially given him her rose on Bachelor in Paradise, but later said she felt pressure and her heart was with Justin Glaze. Rodney was over the moon happy to be with her. Eliza told him she wanted him to tell her not to go on the date when Justin asked her. He said he’d wanted her to have the same experience. He told her he didn’t want her to go, but he wasn’t going to stop her.
She came back from the date with Justin and a love triangle formed. As we reported Andrew Spencer said Justin was the “shiny new object.” Justin had left the beach before but came back because he knew Eliza was there. Eliza had a very hard time before the rose ceremony and said she’d rather leave. In the end, she showed up at Justin’s place and wasn’t met with the excitement she thought she’d get from him.
Rodney Mathews Confronts Her At The Reunion
A clip from the reunion shows Rodney Mathews confronting Eliza. According to Entertainment Weekly, the reunion is the first time they’ve seen each other since the breakup. Rodney went over what he’d said to her. He told her if she wasn’t sure it was him, she should go on the date. Rodney said he had the chance and didn’t want to be a hypocrite.
He went on to say he didn’t want to be controlling. Once again, Eliza tells him she wanted him to tell her not to go. He says, “I did say I didn’t want you to go.” The crowd went wild at this and it made everything a bit awkward for Eliza.
Fans Are Divided On Who Is Right
Rodney Mathews fans are convinced since Eliza told Justin everything changed when he came to the beach, she just tried to get out of her relationship without looking bad. That backfired because she didn’t appear to truly listen to what Rodney was trying to tell her. Other fans stated that Eliza is young and the show does put a lot of pressure on the people to make the right connection. Rodney was so well-liked that Eliza was influenced by everyone else and maybe didn’t truly follow her heart.
