‘Supernatural’ Alum Joins The Cast Of Disney+ ‘Percy Jackson’
Disney+’s upcoming series Percy Jackson And The Olympians team is working fast on putting together a legendary cast before the production starts. The series recently confirmed that a familiar face from Supernatural will join the team as a Greek god alongside another popular name from The Mindy Project. Timothy Omundson Will Play Hephaestus In Percy Jackson
As of now, the series has confirmed the casting of five out of the 12 Olympians slated to appear in the first season. The first three confirmed names in the series include Adam Copeland, Jason Mantzoukas, and Lin-Manuel Miranda as Ares (god of war), Dionysus (god of wine), and Hermes (messenger of the gods) respectively.

The official Twitter account for the Percy Jackson series has now officially confirmed that Jay Duplass from The Mindy Project and Timothy Omundson from the Supernatural series have joined the cast. While Duplass is cast in the role of Hades, Omundson will play Hephaestus in the fantasy series. The Supernatural alum has already responded to the casting confirmation.

Timothy Omundson Is Known For Playing Godly Figures
The 53-year-old actor has a history of playing godly or supernatural figures. Some of his most notable roles include:
- Sean Potter in Judging Amy
- Carlton Lassiter in Psych
- Eli on Xena: Warrior Princess
- Cain in Supernatural
- King Richard on Galavant

On the other hand, Duplass is a writer, director, actor, and producer. He is popular for his role in Amazon Prime’s Transparent as Josh Pfefferman. As per CBR.com, he was also a part of Hulu’s The Mindy Project portraying the role of Duncan Deslaurier.

Additionally, Walker Scobell from The Adam Project will play the lead in Percy Jackson. He plays a pre-teen outcast who discovers that he is the son of the Greek God of the sea, Poseidon. Aryan Simhadri and Leah Jeffries will accompany Scobell throughout Season 1. They will play Percy’s best friends Grover and Annabeth Chase, respectively. Other names roped in for the series include:

Percy Jackson Season 1 Adapts Rick Riordan’s First Novel
Percy Jackson Season 1 will have a total of eight episodes. The Disney+ series will adapt Rick Riordan’s first novel from the Camp Half-Blood Chronicles franchise. The first Percy Jackson movie was released in 2005 followed by the second in 2013. Percy Jackson And The Olympians will debut on Disney+ in 2024. Until then, fans can make do with the upcoming Percy Jackson book slated to release in September 2023.
