Savannah Chrisley Opens Up On Her Parents Prior To Sentencing
Savannah Chrisley is pretty tight with her parents, Todd and Julie. That being said, their upcoming sentencing is not easy for anyone. Fortunately, the twenty-five-year-old daughter of the couple has her new Unlocked podcast to help distract her from the stress. Even with the venture, the unknown for the Chrisleys still weighs heavily on the whole family’s minds. That being said, Savannah is opening up about how Julie and Todd are doing in the midst of everything. Read on for more details.
Savannah Chrisley Opens Up About Parents Before Sentencing
Todd and Julie Chrisley’s sentencing is set for Monday, November 21st. As their fate hangs in the balance, Savannah opened up to Entertainment Tonight as to how they are handling it. “They’re pushing through. We’re at a place where we put our faith in God. We definitely don’t put our faith in the system,” the Sassy founder shared. At this time, her parents are facing different variations of jail time. According to a sentencing memo, prosecutors have recommended up to 22 years for Todd with the minimum being 17.5.
As for Julie, they have recommended Julie serve a max of 12.5 years or a minimum of 10 years. However, per CBS News, their lawyer has suggested just eight to nine months. For those not up to speed, the couple was found guilty of tax fraud back in June and now it is time for the official sentencing. Yet, their daughter adds that she cannot believe how positive and devoted they have remained.
“I’ve never seen two people, my parents, be so steadfast in their faith and in prayer and just literally on their knees every morning praying. It’s just so admirable, and that’s kinda just my focus. Just watching them and still learning and growing from them in times like this, and just kinda staying strong through it all and knowing that, in the end, the truth will prevail. And it may get harder before it gets easier, but we have faith.”
Far From Over
Despite how strong and grounded they remain, Savannah Chrisley knows it is vital to find things that make her happy right now. That is why she is so grateful for her new podcast. She is thankful that she has a place where she can be open and honest and does not have to always smile all the time. Savannah revealed that being on television for so many years almost forced her to have a smile on her face 24/7 but that is no longer. Furthermore, she adds that their show Chrisley Knows Best was always supposed to be comical. It did not necessarily delve deep into hard times.
With Unlocked, she can tackle the hard stuff such as mental health. Admittedly, what she is watching her parents go through has not helped. However, she also shared that she experiences a lot of negativity toward her that has hit her hard. Suicide comes up in her next podcast, as well. On a final note, Savannah says this: “I commend my parents because they turned their anger into pure faith. For me, my anger, I’ve buried it. It comes out, but I’m working through it in therapy.”
