‘Sister Wives’ Fans Dig Deep Into Robyn Brown’s Past Debt
Most Sister Wives fans have a few issues with Robyn Brown. For many years now, she’s left a pretty sour taste in viewers’ mouths. Most viewers just don’t care for the way she treats the other wives and children. Some don’t care for her manipulative nature. But within the family, her debt issues seem to have caused some serious drama over the years.
But why does Robyn have so much debt in the first place?

Avid Sister Wives viewers probably know a little bit about Robyn’s debt at this point. It’s caused some issues in the family in previous seasons and hurt her ability to secure housing. However, the show has never really opened up about the reason behind her debt. What’s going on there?
“Robyn’s debt…what’s the deal?” one Redditor wrote in a recent thread. “In a past season Robyn said something about having taken on a lot of debt from her divorce with Preston to just move things along/make it easier/etc. Does anyone know how much debt or why she decided to accept this debt as a single mom? Did she rack it up? Genuinely curious.”
“What you have to understand is a lot of the time, what Robyn says, and how things actually are, are two completely different things,” another user replied. “She had a lot of debt on a Victoria Secrets cc approximately $30k. This made it difficult for her to get a mortgage. So Janelle cleared it, so they could buy Vegas homes.”
According to IMBD, that number is a little high. The publication notes that the dollar amount Robyn owed was closer to $1,000. However, it’s not completely unthinkable that she racked up more debt on other store credit cards that totaled $30,000.
The Redditor went on to say that as a single mother, Robyn really struggled to make the payments. She also didn’t have anything of value to offer as collateral, so she just stopped making payments. Marrying Kody Brown was really the best move she could have made in that situation. It was a matter of convenience, not love.
Some fans speculate that Robyn isn’t actually happily married to Kody but stays out of convenience. With the debt considered, this may actually be true.

Fans haven’t been fond of Robyn Brown for quite some time. But it seems like she might actually be worse in person than onscreen. Christine’s daughter Gwendlyn has launched a Patreon and vows to spill all the tea and Brown family secrets.
Gwendlyn hasn’t released a lot of information yet, but she did confirm that Robyn usually tones things down for the cameras. According to Gwen, Robyn is much worse in person.
