‘Love After Lock Up’ Lacey Whitlow Relives Devastating Loss
Love After Lockup star Lacey Whitlow is reliving a big loss. As she struggles with her ex, Shane behind bars, it seems like she deserves some happiness. However, the single mother and Jill of all trades has been remembering another sad time in her life. What exactly happened? Read on for more details.
Lacey Whitlow Relives Devastating Loss
The Love After Lockup alum has been through a lot. After she realized things were not working out with her husband, Shane, she ran back to her ex, John Slater. However, their relationship was super on and off and he ended up back in jail. She also spent a lot of time going back and forth with Shane. Apparently, he left her threatening messages and she was able to get a protective order against him over the summer. He then violated that in October and ended up back behind bars.
Now, Lacey is reliving another devastating time in her life. She sent out a heartwarming yet sad tribute to her grandmother on Instagram. Apparently, she passed away last year but it was very hard for Lacey. This was someone who was a constant in her life and taught her to live for every moment. Now, she is reflecting back on how devastating of a loss it was. In the photo she shared, Lacey was young and fresh-faced.
They sat next to one another beaming and Lacey had a beautiful tribute: “God gained a real life Angel …the most amazing woman in my life last year. She’s my daily reminder that this lifetime is temporary, we are on borrowed time. The days , hours, moments , words daily are precious and tomorrow is never promised. I miss my Grandma, she always saw light even in the dark.”
Moving Forward
Right now, Lacey Whitlow’s ex, Shane is behind bars. He is begging people for money to get a lawyer via a GoFundMe set up by family and friends. Their goal is $2500 but the $1500 is essential for the lawyer. He feels he should not be there and that this is a horrible misunderstanding. Yet, Lacey has had problems with Shane for some time, especially after he went missing last year. He was found in Connecticut and ended up getting psychiatric help.
His end goal was to rebuild his life, better than ever so he could see their daughter, Summer. However, things have gone awry and only time will tell what will ultimately happen in their co-parenting relationship. For now, thoughts and prayers go out to Lacey as she continues to mourn the loss of her grandmother.
