Kelly & Gil Bates Shun Jinger Vuolo Over Memoir Announcement?
Did Bringing Up Bates stars Kelly and Gil Bates shun Duggar daughter Jinger Vuolo after she announced her new memoir? Fans are beginning to think so after a recent move the Bates couple made online. Keep reading for all of the details.
As TV Shows Ace reported, Jinger recently announced that she’s written a memoir about her leaving the IBLP (Institute of Basic Life Principles) while maintaining her faith in God. Both the Duggar family and the Bates family are involved in the IBLP, though some of their older children appear to have left.
From what Jinger has shared, it sounds like she exposes some of the negative aspects of the IBLP in her book, which is set to release on January 31, 2023.
Esther Bates and Carlin Stewart both liked Jinger’s Instagram post about the book, but no other family members have liked it or commented on it.
Did Kelly & Gil Bates unfollow Jinger Vuolo after her memoir announcement?
On Reddit, a fan pointed out that Kelly and Gil no longer follow Jinger with their Bates family Instagram account. The fan said, “They probably unfollowed her when they found out about the book.”

Bringing Up Bates fans speculate they’re shunning her.
One fan said, “Makes sense if she’s ‘speaking out’ against the IBLP. Gil still works for them and is very high up.” They could be afraid of what Jinger will spill about their religious beliefs.
Another fan mentioned, “The Bates kids have to distance themselves from the IBLP before the documentary comes out.” A documentary about the IBLP is currently in the works.
However, a few fans are wondering if Kelly and Gil Bates ever followed Jinger Vuolo on Instagram. While they follow many of the Duggar kids, it’s possible they weren’t ever following Jinger. In that case, there is a chance fans only realized it after the memoir announcement.
However, one fan has apparently been looking at Gil and Kelly’s following list on Instagram. They explained, “They did follow her. I always go through the bates family ig follow list to see who of the bates and duggar family posted a new story. And since last week they unfollowed Jinger.”
