‘Sister Wives:’ What If Kody Brown’s Family Never Went Public?
Kody Brown’s family has been living in the public eye since 2010 when Sister Wives first premiered. The show has been on the air for 17 seasons and quite a bit has happened in that time. Most of the children are adults and have lives of their own now.
But what would life be like for the family if they never went public? Many of the kids choose to stay out of the public eye, but a few of them have gone on to develop their own following, like Paedon Brown.
Fans recently began to discuss what the Brown family’s lives would be like if the show never existed. Keep reading to see what they had to say.
What if Kody Brown didn’t bring his family into the public eye?
When Sister Wives began, Kody Brown said he was ready for the world to get to know his larger-than-life family. He wanted to show the world that polygamy wasn’t so bad after all. But what if he opted to stay quiet and hide his family structure instead?
“WHAT IF THEY NEVER GOT RICH AND FAMOUS?” one Redditor titled their post. They went on to post several “what if” questions regarding the Brown family. “What would have happened if the Browns never went public and never got rich and famous?”
They also asked what fans thought would happen if the Browns lived together during the pandemic, among several other questions that would have dramatically altered the course of the show.
“If they didn’t have the show, Robyn wouldn’t have joined the family, imo,” one Redditor pointed out. Many other users readily agreed with this idea. When Robyn married Kody, she was a single mom with three young children. Money was tight and she knew the Browns were about to launch the start of Sister Wives. Many viewers think she had dollar signs in her eyes and jumped at the opportunity.
Other users pointed out that the show likely encouraged many of the kids to leave the church and live the lives they really want.
“If they didn’t have the show, the kids, especially Leon, likely wouldn’t be living their authentic lives. And maybe not have gone to college, traveled etc,” another user added.

There will be a new episode of Sister Wives out this Sunday. And it really seems like Kody Brown has reached his boiling point with Christine. Fans are thankful that she’s finally leaving the family and hope the other wives follow suit.
