Heidi D’Amelio and her pro partner Artem Chigvintsev are out of Dancing With The Stars now. The pair went home during the double-elimination during 90s Night. The couple had been in the bottom multiple times and just couldn’t earn enough votes to advance to the semifinals.

However, Heidi is going to remember her journey fondly. At one point, she thought about quitting. In the end, Heidi was happy she stuck it out until the very end. And she still has a reason to keep watching — her daughter Charli is highly favored to win this year.

Heidi and Charli D’Amelio are the first mother/daughter competitors to compete on the same season. So what was competing against one another really like? Heidi opted to share about the experience in her exit interviews. Keep reading to find out more.

Charli & Heidi D’Amelio loved spending so much time together on the set

TV Insider caught up with Heidi and Charli after 90s Night to talk about the elimination. The publication noted that Heidi spoke fondly of her time on the show, but was clearly disappointed about leaving.

“I had a blast,” Heidi shared. “It was great, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It was intense, fun, and crazy and I get to do the show with my daughter. I had a great partner who was very patient.”

The D’Amelio Show star competed with Russian dancer, Artem Chigvintsev. He won the Mirrorball Trophy with Kaitlyn Bristowe in Season 29.

The behind-the-scenes packages primarily focused on Heidi and Artem in the rehearsal room. However, Charli pointed out that she was with her mother quite often backstage.

“I was with my mom a lot,” Charli told TV Insider. “Going to and from rehearsal. I was always talking to her. I’d see her at home. We were together a lot of time that the show didn’t catch.”

There really wasn’t much of a rivalry between the women at all. In fact, they largely seemed to support one another during the competition.

Another couple left the competition this week

Heidi and Artem weren’t the only ones who left the competition on Monday. Koko Iwasaki and Jersey Shore star Vinny Guadagnino followed them out the door. Many didn’t expect Vinny to make it quite as far as he did in the competition and consistently received low scores from judges. But even so, he persisted.

The final six couples will compete in the semifinals this Monday night at 8 PM eastern time. Don’t forget to tune in and see how Charli and her partner Mark Ballas perform. Heidi will be watching — will you?

There will be another double elimination on Monday, leaving the final four to advance to the Season 31 finale.

Check back soon to see the official semifinals setlist. TV Shows Ace will publish it as soon as it’s available.
