Kelly Clarkson made an important decision about her talk show. Earlier this year, she shocked fans when she shared a major career change. As she turned 40, she wanted to learn how to say “no” to more things in her life. That meant not returning for Season 22 of The Voice.

Now, she’s navigating the rest of her career. Her namesake show returned this fall, which was a big deal for the singer. For the first time in her career, Kelly went on vacation and spent more time with her children.

She’s been working ever since she was a teenager, and never got to enjoy summertime.

“As the fourth season reaches new heights of critical acclaim and viewership, Kelly has used her genuine warmth and natural curiosity to create an engaging, fun show,” Valari Staab, chairman of NBCUniversal Local said in a statement. “The Kelly Clarkson Show is a treasured part of our programming lineup, and we’re enthusiastic about its continued longevity.”

The Kelly Clarkson Show made its debut in 2019. Many of her “Kellyoke” performances have gone viral. Fans love her covers and want more from her. Before her break in the summer, Kelly released her first-ever EP of cover songs.

Kelly Clarkson will also join the following season of NBC’s The Voice alongside Blake Shelton. It will be his final season on the competition show. Newbies Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan will be joining as well.

Still battling her ex-husband in court

Kelly Clarkson is still in the midst of a bitter divorce battle with her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. Even though they’re legally divorced, they still can’t see eye-to-eye on many things. Kelly will make her return to the very place where she first met him, which could bring up some memories.

Or, maybe it’ll help her focus on her singing career. Kelly will appear at the Country Music Awards this week. It’ll be her first appearance since ending her marriage in June 2020. The former couple got engaged in December 2012 and married the following year in Tennessee. Kelly and Brandon share two children — daughter River, eight, and son Remington, six.
