TLC’s Shauna Rae Gives Shoutout To Special First Responders
After a great first season, TLC easily renewed I Am Shauna Rae for a second one. Season 2 kicked off this month and there will be new episodes each Tuesday night. Fans are excited to see how Shauna navigates life as an adult with pituitary dwarfism. This year, she’s laser-focused on gaining more independence from her parents as well as exploring love and dating.
Shauna went on a few dates in season one and things won’t be any different this year. She already had a special date in the premiere episode with Thomas, a man also living with pituitary dwarfism.
Shauna Rae takes a tour of a firehouse
In the season premiere, Shauna and Thomas go on a date that starts with a tour of the firehouse where he volunteers. He admits that being a volunteer firefighter with pituitary dwarfism has its challenges, but he’s not determined to let his height stop him. Shauna seemed impressed with Thomas’ positive attitude and appreciated that he could relate to many of the challenges she faces.
Now that the episode is out, the TLC star took some time to give the firehouse a special shoutout online.
“Thank you so much Islip Terrace Fire Department for putting your lives on the line and keeping our world a little safer!” Shauna posted on Instagram. “I have such a high respect for every single one of you, thank you for having Rylee, Mark, the #iamshaunarae crew, and I for the day! If you’re in the area make sure to give them your thanks and check out the Fire Department I know they do all sorts of fun activities for families and such also! ❤️❤️🚒🚒🚒”
“I like Thomas! He’s a sweetheart!” one fan wrote in the comments.
“He was so sweet I hope you guys hang out some more!!” another added.
Many fans are really hopeful that Thomas will make another appearance on the show. He and Shauna seemed to have a connection, even if there isn’t quite a budding romance yet. Online, fans have said they hope Thomas and Shauna keep in touch and stay friends at the very least.

What else will Season 2 have in store?
Fans hope that Thomas will make more appearances, but it seems like Shauna may be keeping her dating options open at the moment. Previews already confirmed there will be at least a few other suitors hoping to earn Shauna’s affection.
