Robin Roberts Explains ‘GMA’ Absence On Twitter

As it turns out, Robin wasn’t at the host’s desk this week for work reasons. Her tweet revealed that she was traveling for “a work assignment.” Although the GMA anchor didn’t specify what the project was, she indicated it had something to do with author Missy Buchanan. As fans will remember, the writer and motivational speaker has appeared on the morning show on many occasions with Robin and the two seem to have a deep bond. Read Robin’s tweet in full below.

The TV anchor didn’t detail how long she’ll be away but she’s bound to come back with an update very soon. Meanwhile, whether she returns this week at all remains unclear.

What Could Robin Roberts’ Assignment Be?

Robin’s absence from GMA this week comes after the TV host’s hiatus from the morning show in September. At the time, she was on assignment in Ghana, where she immersed herself in the local culture and danced with traditional West African dancers.

While there, Robin met with Black Panther actress Danai Gurira. The pair went live on GMA for an African tour ahead of the upcoming Wakanda Forever movie.

The project features an exclusive interview with the late actor’s widow, Simone Ledward Boseman, conducted by The View‘s Whoopi Goldberg.

“The special also includes interviews with the film’s stars including Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong’o, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, and Wakanda newcomers Mabel Cadena and Tenoch Huerta Meja.”
