BIP newlyweds Joe and Serena talk about their wedding
Bachelor Nation shared what Joe and Serena had to say about their surprise wedding on the latest episode of Click Bait. Joe started off by saying, “We got married last Thursday. And that’s been a thing people have been asking us, like, did we know we were going to get married? We started the wedding planning process and realized it’s going to take a while. So we said, ‘Why don’t we knock out the marriage thing?’ We thought it would be fun. We had some friends that did it. We thought we would be able to do it over Zoom, but that changed since COVID. You can’t do that anymore. We have been talking about doing it for a few months.”
By talking about it for a few months, they said they started talking about it after their engagement party in August.
Joe and Serena said it wasn’t like they woke up and decided let’s get married today. She revealed it was a three-week process from the time they found the information to actually getting married.
Due to Covid, they were only allowed to have one person in the room. Their witness was Natasha Parker. Serena said they loved having her there, She also said she got so emotional at the ceremony because she didn’t know what to expect and when they told them to face each other and look in each other’s eyes it hit her that it was all real.
They weren’t planning on telling anyone
Serena revealed that there weren’t very many people who knew and they were planning to keep it that way. However, Serena’s manager texted her and said someone saw them leaving the ceremony.
So, Joe and Serena decided to just tell everyone so at least it got out in their own way versus someone else spilling the news.
The newlyweds are still planning a big ceremony for next year. They said being already legally married has taken some of the pressure off of wedding planning.
