DWTS just had an amazing Halloween Night performance! There were many fabulous routines, including the return of the team dances.

But at the end of the night, one more couple left. Now, there are only eight couples left in DWTS Season 31, which is exactly half of the couples that the competition began with.

Who reigned supreme tonight and who went home? Keep reading to get all the juicy details.

Someone new tops the DWTS leaderboard after Halloween Night

At the beginning of the competition, there was a three-way tie between Charli D’Amelio, Wayne Brady, and Gabby Windey for several weeks. Charli eventually broke free from the pack and held the top spot for many more weeks.

Charli and Mark performed remarkably well tonight and even earned a 39/40 for their Argentine Tango to “Tanguera” by Fabio Hager Sexteto. Audience members were particularly impressed with Charli’s creepy back bend. However, Carrie Ann Inaba challenged the couple to take things a step further next week. She gave them a 9, which left them one point of a perfect score.

A surprise couple came out from behind and actually did earn a perfect score. Who was it?

Shangela may be the first contestant to compete in drag on DWTS, but she isn’t willing to stop there. She wants that Mirrorball Trophy and is doing everything in her power to get there. She and her partner Gleb Savchenko earned a 40/40 for their Jazz routine to “Look What You Made Me Do” by Taylor Swift. Derek Hough even added that he was going to have nightmares after that performance.

Dancing With The Stars fans know that it’s not always the contestant with the most dance experience who wins. In many cases, it’s the contestant who works the hardest and improves week after week. At this pointing the game, it seems like Shangela and Gleb certainly have a shot at the Mirrorball Trophy. And she didn’t even need to pull anything out of her cleavage this week!

Another DWTS couple rises up on the leaderboard

Charli’s team ended up winning the team performance, which gave her the bonus points she needed to overtake Shangela’s position at the top of the leaderboard. But Shangela definitely secured her place at the table. Fans are really curious to see what she will come up with next week.

Trevor Donovan and Emma Slater also had an amazing night, scoring a 39/40 — the same as Charli and Mark. It was incredibly unexpected, but a very welcome surprise for viewers. After the team dances, they ended up tying with Charli and Mark for first place.

Who left the competition tonight?

After everything was said and done, Jordin Sparks and Brandon Armstrong landed in the bottom two with Heidi D’Amelio and Artem Chigvintsev. Ultimately, the judges saved Heidi and sent Jordin home. They had a good run and many were sad to see them leave.

Are you sad about tonight’s elimination or was it as you predicted? Be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments!

Next week’s episode will be 90s Night and there will be so many fun routines to see. Since there are only eight competitors left, there will also be more special routines to see. It will be tough to top the group dances from tonight, though!
