Whoopi Goldberg of The View has had it with armchair critics writing into the show to express how unhappy they are with her and something she’s said. As TvShowsAce has previously reported, the 66-year-old recently popped off on viewers at home about their overwhelming criticism toward the show. Shutting down the backlash, she told viewers they simply shouldn’t tune in to watch the show if they didn’t like it.

Now, she’s popping off at viewers at home again in anticipation of a joke that both she and Sunny Hostin found to be funny and relatable. What joke did The View moderator tell that she believed wouldn’t be well-received by some of the more sensitive viewers tuning in to watch the show? And, what did she have to say in anticipation of the backlash she expected to receive?

Whoopi Goldberg urges The View critics to find a sense of humor

On a recent episode of The View, the topic of haunted houses came up for discussion. More specifically, Whoopi Goldberg was interested in discussing how people of different races tend to handle haunted houses differently.

You’ll notice that many of the people in haunted houses, when they’re told to get out, happen to be white folks. White people don’t know. Black people when the house says get out, we take our car keys, we get everything we need and we leave!”

The audience could be heard laughing and Sunny Hostin pointed a finger in Whoopi’s direction before nodding in agreement with what she had said.

The View moderator realized that armchair critics would be quick to come for her after she brought the topic of different races up for discussion. So, she proceeded to shut the criticism down before it even happened.

“Before you all start writing us about what a racist I am… This is done in humor. Get a sense of humor!” Whoopi popped off in a stern and serious voice as she shot a glance at the camera. Ultimately, Whoppi wanted viewers at home to find a sense of humor or stop watching The View.

Viewers often take issue with her sense of humor

It is no secret that Whoopi Goldberg is a very strong-willed and highly opinionated woman. Moreover, she also enjoys comedy and isn’t too bothered with walking a controversial line while telling jokes. At the end of the day, she just thinks people with no sense of humor should consider watching something else.
