Kody Brown may be one of the more well-known polygamists in the United States. But does he actually believe in plural marriage as a spiritual practice? According to YouTuber Katie Joy, Kody Brown’s faith in polygamy may be more for show than anything else.
In one of her latest videos, Katie Joy said on the Without A Crystal Ball show that an insider close to the Brown family firmly believed that it was all a farce. The insider reportedly said that Kody Brown just really enjoys making a spectacle. Having multiple wives is an easy way to do that. Keep reading to learn more.
Katie Joy’s sources believe Kody Brown is all about his own ego — not God
Katie Joy has a pretty lengthy history with reporting on various television families. Most notably, she covers the Duggars and the Brown family of Sister Wives. Since Season 17 premiered, she’s had no shortage of things to cover on the show.
On her Instagram page, she revealed that she had a chance to speak with someone who personally knew the Brown family. The insider was part of their church and previously left the faith.
“When I asked her about Kody, she said that she got the feeling that Kody was never a true believer,” Katie wrote on Instagram. “Her sense that Kody’s involvement in polygamy was more about his ego, shock value and the attention he received because of polygamy. She said the Browns did leave the AUB, but Kody remains close to several men still inside.”
