Bringing Up Bates star Carlin Bates Stewart has a new update on her mysterious health issues. She recently chatted with fans and gave them the latest details as she works to get answers. So, what’s the most recent update? Keep reading for all of the details.

If you haven’t been following along with Carlin Bates and her husband, Evan Stewart, here’s a quick rundown of what’s going on with her health. In May, Carlin began having seizure-like episodes. Since then, she has spoken with numerous doctors and has had many different tests run. One of her seizures even led to a concussion when she fell and hit her head on the ground.

So far, she hasn’t been able to get a diagnosis but is on medication to try to prevent the seizures. Recently, she hasn’t shared too many health updates with fans because she hasn’t had much to say. But now, she has more details to spill.

In a new YouTube video, Carlin and Evan sat down to let fans know what is going on now. For the past month, she’s been on a second medication, which seems to be helping. She still has episodes but they aren’t as severe and she doesn’t pass out but just lays down. She can feel them before they begin and then knows what’s going on around her during an episode but can’t move. Evan describes them as “half episodes.”

Her doctor in Tennessee put her in contact with a doctor at the Mayo Clinic in Florida. They had a phone call to discuss what’s been going on and which tests have been run so far.

Carlin Bates said that the Mayo Clinic doctor said they would do the same tests that her doctor in Tennessee is already doing. So, it doesn’t make sense to transfer her care to the Mayo Clinic in Florida because that would require a move or frequent traveling back and forth.

So, in the meantime, the doctor in Tennessee is going to run additional tests based on the Mayo Clinic’s suggestions. Then, possibly, later on, they may work with the Mayo Clinic, but they didn’t get that far yet because there are more things to try in Tennessee.

The next test is a multi-day EEG, and Carlin Bates will have to get off of her medicine before that. They are booked pretty far out right now, so it may be a little while until that happens.

So, do you appreciate Carlin Bates and Evan Stewart’s frequent updates? Are you glad to hear that the second medication seems to be making a difference? Sound off in the comments section and come back to TV Shows Ace for more Bringing Up Bates news. You can watch the full video down below.
