Contestant Lisa makes her comeback story
Wheel of Fortune contestant Lisa has a big comeback story. Pat Sajak couldn’t believe what happened to her 40 years ago. It’s a story that she’s shared with her kids. She was a contestant on the show who made it up to this point. However, she didn’t make it past the audition round.
There was just one problem. Lisa had a case of stage fright that held her back. She was able to return to Wheel of Fortune 40 years later during the inaugural season. Lisa finally got to redeem herself.
“I panicked. They said, ‘now a word’ and I couldn’t speak a word!” Lisa explained. “So, they showed me to my seat, and brought in an alternate — and I’ve been waiting for 40 years to get back, and here we are!”
Pat was in shock over Lisa’s story. Hostess Vanna White clapped for the contestant all the way from the puzzle board. Pat joked that she’s “learned to speak beautifully.” He called it “a nice story” before moving on. On Friday’s show, Lisa managed to make it all the way to the bonus round.
Unfortunately, she didn’t guess the final puzzle. However, she did walk away with $12k in winnings. Some of the Wheel of Fortune fans were still inspired by Lisa’s redemption arch. They took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
- “Anyone else watching Wheel of Fortune tonight? This girl Lisa is back on after 40 years!”
