Prince Harry And Meghan’s Netflix Documentary Hits A Snag
Netflix’s The Crown has been facing backlash for the upcoming Season 5 and this is directly affecting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s upcoming documentary. The Crown Season 5’s plot will have several scenes that are purely based on conspiracy theories and imagination which is causing uproar among fans. The series is dubbed insensitive given that Netflix decided to air the series mere months after Queen Elizabeth II’s death. But, how does it affect Harry and Meghan’s Netflix documentary? Keep reading to find out the details!
Netflix Postpones Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Documentary
The executives at Netflix have now decided to postpone the premiere of the documentary until 2023. Given that The Crown Season 5 premieres on November 9, the executives feel it would be redundant to stream another show at the same time. As per a Netflix executive, “It would be foolhardy to stream The Crown in November followed by the Harry and Meghan documentary in December.”

This decision seems to be a result of the growing allegations and outrage of invention and insensitivity seen in The Crown Season 5’s first preview.
The Crown Screenwriter Peter Morgan Traumatized Over Criticism
A source close to the streaming platform mentioned, “They’re rattled at Netflix, and they blinked first and decided to postpone the documentary.”
“The show has never been about sensationalism but it has also always been a drama. For the first years it seemed that everyone was happy to tolerate it…(but)… it was easier to write the earlier series. Because, firstly, there is a wealth of historical documentation, plus a consensus over more of what happened. And, you can be more broad brush dramatically and people don’t find it hurtful,” they explained.

As per the source, Peter Morgan, screenwriter for The Crown is very traumatized by the downpour of criticism. “He has not done anything to be sensational. The show would be a different show if he sought the sensational,” they added.
Prince Harry Bashed Over His Hypocrisy Regarding Privacy
Per The Daily Beast, the report of the Harry and Meghan documentary being postponed comes after Netflix had to issue a statement in defense of the show. More so, Sir John Major, former British Prime Minister condemned the show’s portrayal of him and Prince Charles. In the scene, the Prince attempts to recruit John in a scheme to oust the queen. He said that the scene was “a barrel-load of nonsense” and “malicious.”
After this, Netflix dubbed its series as a fictional dramatization of the events in an attempt to defend its case.

As per reports, Harry and Meghan have signed a $100 Million deal with the streamer for the documentary. However, fans have criticized the former prince for this hypocritical move. He has always been critical of the media for invading his privacy. Hence, signing a deal with Netflix to make his story public is a humbug.

I have not watched any seasons or episodes of The Crown. Nor do I intend to. I find everything involving Harry & Megan and their relationship with the Royal family disrespectful to both parties involved and should remain a private family matter. No one will ever know the real truth. I hope for the sake Of the next generation that they stop making spectacles of themselves.
