Every year for decades, kids of all ages have watched Charlie Brown holiday specials on TV. PBS has bad news for fans this year. For only the second time since 1996, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown won’t air on television this year.

PBS Kids released a message on Twitter about It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. They won’t be airing the show this year. According to the network, they don’t have the right to distribute any Peanuts specials this year. “We’ll all have to watch for the Great Pumpkin in a different pumpkin patch this Halloween.”

Since 1996, the only other time that It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown didn’t air on television was in 2020. That was also a year that it was made available on Apple TV+.

It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown focused on Linus, as he sits every year in the pumpkin patch and waits hopefully to see the Great Pumpkin arise from the patch to bring presents to all the good boys and girls. However, no one believes him and mocks his beliefs. Meanwhile, Charlie Brown attends a Halloween party after trick or treating, only to end up mocked by the other kids. Finally, Snoopy goes into action as he attempts to battle his mortal enemy, the Red Baron.

How to see It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown this year

While it won’t be on regular TV this year, fans can still catch it on a streaming service, although it is one that a majority of households don’t subscribe to. This year, Apple TV+ has the rights to stream the Peanuts specials on TV, but it will only be for a limited time.

This also means that the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and Christmas specials also won’t be on TV this year, and people will have to add Apple TV+ to their television or device to see them. All three Peanuts holiday specials will be up for a limited time only. However, there is good news. You don’t have to subscribe to Apple TV+ to see the specials. They are free for everyone to see, but only for a few days.

For fans who want to see It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown this yearit will air on Apple TV+ for free from October 28-31. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving will stream for free on Apple TV+ from November 23-27. Finally, for anyone who wants to see A Charlie Brown Christmas, it will stream from December 22-25 for free on Apple TV+.
