‘Bringing Up Bates:’ Katie’s Baby Name Inspired By ‘One Tree Hill?’
Bringing Up Bates stars Katie Bates and Travis Clark have fans asking if One Tree Hill inspired their baby’s name. They recently shared the baby’s name with their followers. Their little one on the way happens to share a name with one of the One Tree Hill characters.

As TV Shows Ace previously reported, Katie and Travis shared a new YouTube video and revealed the name they’ve chosen for their baby girl. They have named her Hailey James. She’s due to arrive in March 2023.
Many Bringing Up Bates fans love the combination the couple has chosen. But some are curious about the inspiration for the name.
Bringing Up Bates fans think it’s inspired by One Tree Hill.
On Reddit and Instagram, fans have been discussing whether Katie and Travis might watch One Tree Hill. In a new post on the Duggar Bates Confessions Instagram page, a fan asked if the baby’s name reminds others of One Tree Hill. This is because one of the main female characters is named Haley James.

Bringing Up Bates fans are agreeing and saying it does remind them of One Tree Hill. On Reddit, fans are having the same discussion. Someone commented, “Haley James?? As in Haley James Scott from One Tree Hill 😂 wonder if they ever watched that show.”
Another fan said, “The first thing I thought of was One Tree Hill but I bet she has never watched it and has no clue about that Hailey James.”
Someone else argued, “She is totally a One Tree Hill fan.”
In the comments section of Katie and Travis’ YouTube video, one Bringing Up Bates fan commented, “I instantly thought of One Tree Hill because her first and last name was Hayley James. She was a great character, strong in her beliefs and intelligent. So nothing but greatness comes to mind.” Plenty of others replied to this comment and agreed.

Do Bringing Up Bates stars Travis & Katie watch One Tree Hill?
Katie and Travis haven’t publicly said anything about watching One Tree Hill, and due to the Bates kids’ conservative, sheltered upbringing, they don’t seem to watch many mainstream TV shows.
When announcing their baby’s name, the couple said they wanted to use Travis’ middle name, James regardless of the gender. Katie said they simply liked the name Hailey, especially with James.
So, it’s possible that Katie and Travis felt inspired by One Tree Hill when selecting a name for their baby on the way. But at this point, they haven’t mentioned the show. Even if they haven’t watched the show, they might have heard the name somewhere and liked it.
