AGT: Simon Cowell Reveals Stunning News, Show Is Canceled

During an interview with The Buzz, Simon was asked, “America’s Got Talent, we had the extreme version last year. Is that coming back for season two?”

In response, the AGT judge looked uncomfortable and then broke the news. He said,  “No chance. That was, for me, the most nerve-wracking thing, I have ever done in my life.”

He continued, “I mean, I’m not kidding. I felt like a contestant. It was something we wanted to do, but I would never go through that again.”

The interviewer followed up and asked, “They got too close to pushing limits there?”

Simon agreed and said, “Too much. It was way too much. This [the regular season], I prefer.”

So, based on what Simon shared, it sounds like AGT: Extreme is officially over. During the spin-off’s first season, one contestant, Jonathan Goodwin injured himself while on set and ended up paralyzed. This was very scary and no one wants to risk that happening again. Jonathan actually blames the show for his accident.

The new series will feature three of the four judges, including Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, and Heidi Klum.

The contestants include fan favorites, finalists, winners, and internet sensations. They all have a second chance to put their skills to good use and win it all. Filming is underway and it will premiere sometime in 2023.

  1. Maybe this will give Adam Lambert another chance. I am looking forward to it, however think they should remove child acts – like contestants over 21 ???
