‘Unsuspicious’ Season 2: Renewed Or Canceled?
Netflix’s dark-comedy, mystery series Unsuspicious Season 1 premiered back in August and fans have been waiting for renewal news. Created by Leandro Soares and Cesar Rodrigues, this Portuguese-language series is the perfect mix of Knives Out or Clue with some hints of Only Murders In the Building. Simply put, it’s a classic whodunit with an immersive storyline that has fans craving for more. So, has the show been renewed for Season 2? Or is it canceled? Keep reading to find out!
What Is Netflix’s Series Unsuspicious About?
Unsuspicious’ story trails a notorious swindler Jorginho Peixoto. After he realizes that someone is after him, he invites his current wife Patricia, former wife Bete, and a prospective future mistress named Thyellen to dinner. All three arrive on location with their respective families. However, Jorginho reveals that he has conned the guests out of their properties & asks them to care take of his assets. However, he is later killed that night he is murdered and it is apparent that the killer is one among the guests.

The series received positive reviews from critics and audiences with a lot of praise directed towards the narrative and character performances. As per TheCinemaholic, this Brazilian series premiered on August 17, 2022, and comprises nine episodes of 26 to 35 minutes each. So, what do we know about the possible renewal?
Is Unsuspicious Returning For A Second Season?
Neither Netflix nor the series producers have confirmed the series’ renewal. However, Netflix has lately been very supportive of its international content creators. This is especially true if the project receives positive reviews from critics and viewers.

An excellent example is Netflix’s Good Morning, Veronica, a Brazilian series that premiered in 2020. After seeing massive success among fans, it was renewed for another season that premiered in 2022. So, if this mystery series manages to duplicate the numbers, there is a good chance that it will receive a renewal soon.

Just like the Spanish-Brazilian series Santo, Unsuspicious also ended its first season with a cliffhanger, broadcasting that the killer might still be free. This gives the creator a good start for Season 2 if it happens. In case the makers renew it within a few months, there is a high chance that Unsuspicious Season 2 might be streaming on Netflix by the fourth quarter of 2024.
What Will Unsuspicious Season 2 Be About?
Unsuspicious Season 1’s finale episode revealed Marconi as Jorgihno’s murderer. He poisoned the tea and killed him after which Jorginho died of poisoning. However, neither Bete nor Thyellen comes to help him despite seeing him having a stroke before their eyes. However, Marconi is now dead after being pushed by the roof. This means there is more than one killer in the house. It is clear that Season 2 will delve deeper into finding the real killer.
