Discotek Media, an American entertainment company, has licensed the rights to release some high-rated anime movies. Among the list of these anime movies are popular titles like Saiyuki Reload: Burial OVA and Lupin The Third: Farewell To Nostradamus slated to release in December. However, these aren’t the only two names Discotek has snagged the license for. Project A-ko 3 and Digimon Adventure are also a part of this deal.
Saiyuki Reload: Burial OVA Gets A Blu-ray Release In The U.S.
Saiyuki Reload OVA, slated to release on December 27, 2022, will comprise three episodes. It will be released on Blu-ray Disc and will feature original Japanese audio with English subtitles. Directed by Koichi Ohata, this release will be the first home video in North America.
The Burial Arc in this OVA film takes a detailed look at the time before the Saiyuki quartet’s formation. It also trails the quartet’s journey to the west. The story starts with Sanzo and his master alongside Ukoku. It then follows Sanzo as he first meets Goku. The final episode trails the events that take place after Hakkai’s sins and his trials and his ultimate decision to stay in Gojyo’s house.
Lupin III: Farewell To Nostradamus Features Funimation English Dub
Lupin The Third: Farewell To Nostradamus will also release on the same day as Saiyuki Reload. As per Anime News Network, this release will also have the original Japanese audio along with English subtitles. However, it will feature an English dub by Funimation in both 5.1 and 2.0. Directed by Toshiya Ito, the movie was initially released on DVD in 2005 and 2006 by Funimation.
Discotek’s original synopsis of this 1995 movie reads:
“Set in January 1999, a simple diamond heist leads Lupin into the machinations of a bizarre apocalyptic cult based around the prophecies of Nostradamus. The cult’s plan involves kidnapping Julia, the daughter of Douglas, a wealthy American who is seeking to run in the 2000 presidential election. At stake is the lost book of Nostradamus, which Douglas holds in a high-tech vault at the top of his skyscraper. Can Lupin rescue Julia, find a way into the vault, and discover the connection between the cult and the kidnapping? And what about his diamond?”
Written by Hiroshi Kashiwabara, this movie is a part of the chronology that is preceded by The Legend Of The Gold Babylon and succeeded by Dead Or Alive.
