‘DWTS’ Pro Sharna Burgess Drops MAJOR News On Instagram
Sharna Burgess has some excellent news to share with fans!
She may not be an active part of Dancing With The Stars Season 31, but she still has a lot on her plate these days. When she isn’t busy with her baby son, Sharna has been working on another project.

Sharna Burgess makes a major decision and fans are so proud
Although Sharna Burgess isn’t competing this year, many DWTS viewers have spotted her during the episodes. She can often be seen in the audience, cheering on her friends and castmates.
When insiders leaked the original cast list, Sharna was on the list of pro dancers. However, she ultimately decided to take a step back and focus on being a parent instead. Her fans miss her, but she hopes to return in future seasons when her baby is a little older.
Sharna did find a little time to tackle a pretty significant task though. She finally became an American citizen!
The dancer was born in Australia and loves her native country. However, she lives in Los Angeles full-time now with her partner Brian Austin Green. They welcomed their son together this summer.
“Today something really amazing happened :)” the 37-year-old captioned her Instagram post. “I had no idea that this would feel emotional for me. This has been my home for nearly 12 years now. My son was born here, my life and love and career.. all here. And yet this last step of becoming a citizen and finally having the same rights as all Americans felt so important.”
“Maybe it’s because I’ve lived outside of Australia since I was 18, so much of that was out of a suitcase and from one country to another,” she continued. “At one point my belongings were just in garbage bags since it was easier to move. … Eventually I found my tribe here, I bought a home here, I fell in love here, I birthed my son here. Now this final step is the period at the end I never knew I was needing so much. This very long chapter of finding belonging has finally come to a close. I Sharna Burgess, am a citizen of The United States of America, and I belong here.”

Of course, Sharna’s friends, family, and fans are all so proud that she chose to take this huge step in her life. They flooded the comments section to show their support.
“Congratulations, that’s so amazing and important 🎉” DWTS pro Gleb Savchenko wrote in the comments. Emma Slater and Sasha Farber also left kind words in the comments. They just became American citizens a few years ago as well.
