Coal Miner’s Daughter & Country Queen Loretta Lynn Dead At 90
Tragic news for fans of country music as the Kentucky coal miner’s daughter and country queen, Loretta Lynn, has been confirmed dead at the age of 90. According to Bloomberg, a statement provided to The Associated Press confirms Loretta Lyn passed away on Tuesday. As multiple outlets remind us, Loretta Lynn was considered to be a pillar of country music. She created a name for herself with songs about love and life from the point of view of a woman.

In the statement confirming her death, Loretta’s family revealed the singer passed away on Tuesday in the comfort of her own home located in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. Her family issued a brief statement before asking for privacy during this difficult time:
Our precious mom, Loretta Lynn, passed away peacefully this morning, October 4th, in her sleep at home in her beloved ranch in Hurricane Mills.”
The country queen’s family confirmed a memorial for Loretta Lynn would be announced at a later time. No information regarding the singer’s cause of death was made public or included in the confirmation of her death. Her 1970 mega-hit song ‘Coal Miners Daughter’ was also a huge big-screen movie success in 1980. One of Loretta’s closest friends was the late Johnny Cash (man in black) and his wife June Carter Cash. Loretta sang with legend Willie Nelson, the list of big country music stars that had the honor of singing with her is countless. Including her own family Crystal Gayle of ‘Don’t it Make Your Brown Eyes Blue’ fame.
