On Sunday, October 2, Ginger Zee shared the shocking image from photographer Wilfredo Lee with Associated Press. It showed the destruction that was left over by Hurricane Ian. Florida residents are still cleaning up from the Category 4 storm that touched landfall on Wednesday, September 28.

“Waking up well before the sun this morning, heart aching for the people of SW Florida,” Ginger Zee wrote in the caption of the Instagram post, which you can view here. “I put a link in my bio for vetted organizations you can confidently donate to. You might have heard me repeating last week that a surge over 12 feet can move buildings and homes from their foundations — unfortunately, that happened again.”

She concluded her post by reminding fans about the “power of water.” According to her latest Instagram post, the current death toll is 72 in Florida and 4 in North Carolina.
