Stunning ‘Suzume No Tojimari’ Trailer Reveals First Dialogue

Suzume No Tojimari opens up doors to a mysterious world, not just with its interesting premise but also with its stunning visuals. Directed by Makoto Shinkai, this anime movie is an upcoming marvel that is slated to release on November 11, 2022, in Japan. With an interesting screenplay penned by Makoto Shinkai, this movie trails 17-year-old Suzume who stumbles upon a mysterious door in the mountains.

However, this is just the start of a chain reaction that opens several such doors all across Japan causing destruction and disasters. It is up to the protagonist to close them and mitigate the disaster. If one has watched the Netflix movie Bubble, it follows a similar premise. This is Makoto Shinkai’s third movie and the latest trailer lets viewers hear the characters’ voices for the very first time.

The movie’s official YouTube channel recently released this trailer. It opens with Suzume being asked about the mysterious door by a beautiful stranger, Souta. However, tension starts to rise after the duo meets a peculiar cat. What is so peculiar about this cat? Well, for one, it cat talk and secondly, it turns Souta into a talking, toddling wooden chair.

When Will Suzume No Tojimari Release Globally?

The very first trailer didn’t have any characters talking but only the hauntingly beautiful theme music, Suzume, which is sung by the melodious singer Toaka. Suzume No Tojimari is Shinkai’s first anime movie after a three-year hiatus. The anime movie is produced by CoMix Wave Films & distributed by Toho. Nanoka Hara, who voices the lead character Suzume was actually selected from an audition of more than 1700 people.

Although this movie will be available in Japan by November, international anime fans might have to wait longer. As per CBR.com, a dubbed and subbed version of the movie will be available globally by early 2023. Sony Pictures, Crunchyroll, and Wild Bunch International have global distribution rights for the movie. While Crunchyroll will stream the movie in North America, it will partner with Sony for locations outside Asia.

Shinkai’s The Garden Of Words Bags Best Animated Film Award

Shinkai has several amazing movies to his name that fared well among the anime fandom as well as the critics. Although his journey as a director started with the 2013 anime movie The Garden Of Words, he shot to fame with the 2016 anime Your Name. This movie received critical acclaim for its stunning visuals, animation, and emotional storytelling. Not just that, it won Best Animated Film at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards in 2016.

Ever since Shinkai’s journey has been all about achieving perfection with his anime movies. His 2019 movie Weathering With You, was also a massive success at the box office. It earned a whopping $15 Million in just a few days of screening. So, it is expected that Suzume No Tojimari will also share a similar spectacle furthering Shinkai’s fame in the anime industry.
