On Wednesday, the newscaster took to his Instagram stories to share a heartwarming picture that reminded him of someone he lost recently.

He shared a picture of a pooch named Wyatt sitting on his hotel balcony looking out to the sea as the rains flooded the roads. He captioned the picture, “My new hurricane buddy and ghost of Sunny is back… Wyatt.”

The climatologist recently lost his beloved pet Sunny who was with him for 5 years after being rescued. Rob penned an emotional post on Instagram revealing that his pooch was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer that took over his liver, lungs, and pancreas. He also revealed that Sunny was his very first dog & best friend.

In another post, Marciano also shared an emotional video montage featuring The Beatles’ song ‘Here Comes The Sun.’ It featured his pet Sunny running in the yard with his ears flopping in the air. The montage also showed Sunny playing with Marciano’s kids Madelynn and Mason.

His co-anchor Lara Spencer commented “Made me get teary. Thanks for sharing sunny with us. Love her. Love you.”

“Sunny was the sweetest, even to annoying Copper. So sorry,” wrote ABC correspondent Andrea Fuji.

Fans flocked to the comments as one wrote, “What a great life Sunny had.”

Marciano is currently reporting on the impact of Hurricane Ian in Florida. As per The Sun, millions of residents are struggling with power cuts & widespread flooding. GMA fans also showed their concern for the host’s safety as they delivered coverage amid challenging conditions.

However, he admitted that it is weird that Bermuda is his happy place and he felt safe there. He also shared that it was the first time he was covering a storm in Bermuda. He also admired the impeccable craftsmanship of homes in the area that can easily tackle the impact of the harsh storms.
