Sister Wives fans are questioning everything after Meri Brown was forced to make a five-hour car ride by herself as she raced to be with her dying mother. As TvShowsAce previously reported, Meri Brown took to Instagram recently to thank fans for their love and support as a very emotional episode featuring the death of her mother aired over the weekend. The TLC personality told fans she decided not to watch the episode. She explained this decision was made largely because the day her mother passed away was a day she would never forget. So, she didn’t need to watch it play out on television.

With all of this information in mind, fans are questioning what the purpose of polygamy is if not to have a large family to love and support you.

Sister Wives: What is the point of Meri Brown’s family?

In a thread on Reddit, one Sister Wives fan admits that watching Meri drive by herself to see her mother before she passed away left them questioning everything. What was the purpose of the large polygamous family she built with Kody? Here’s what the individual posted on Reddit:

The point of polygamy is that you have other people to always support you. Meri should have never been alone in that car driving to Bonnie. Christine is off the hook, because she was with Mykelti, but Robyn, Kody, or Janelle should have been in that car. You move some things around with regards to the minor children’s’ needs and you go. You don’t think, personal issues don’t matter, you go. No matter what is on your plate. No one should make that five-hour drive alone. For shame. True shame.

While the Sister Wives fan agreed that Christine had an out because she was with Mykelti, the same fan believes Janelle, Kody, or Robyn should have dropped everything to be with Meri regardless of what was going on. At the very least, the fan points out that someone should have been in the car with her during that long and lonely car ride.

Further inspecting the timeline, fans concluded Janelle was in NC helping Maddie at the time. Moreover, fans seemingly agreed Robyn would have been the most logical choice to travel with Meri. Some fans, however, question how much of the moment was staged because Meri’s outfit in a lot of the scenes was the same. Furthermore, some fans pointed out it is possible Meri didn’t want anyone in the vehicle with her. Or, she simply didn’t have time to pick up someone to take with her.
