Zach ShallCross Opens Up About His Role As ‘The Bachelor’
Zach Shallcross was announced as The Bachelor during the After the Final Rose live event last week. Since then, he has been preparing to begin his own journey to find love. Things didn’t work out with Rachel Recchia and he left the show extremely upset. Now, he’s hoping to find love again and leave his journey engaged. Keep reading to find out what Zach had to say in one of his first interviews.
Zach Shallcross shares thoughts on being The Bachelor
Bachelor Nation caught up with Zach Shallcross to talk about his big Bachelor debut. They first asked Zach what he is looking forward to the most having his own season.
Zach said he is very excited to start his journey. He said, “I’m most excited about really getting that chance to find my person and have the ability to be on the other end of things. I am looking forward to not necessarily being at the whims of what another person is feeling but being able to figure it out for myself. I now have the platform and I can hopefully leave engaged at the end of this.”
He was also asked about what part of his journey he is most nervous about. Zach said he is most nervous that there will be women who are not there for the right reasons. He is serious and wants to find a wife and it’s scary to think some of the women aren’t really there for him.
What is he looking for in a partner?
Zach also shared what kind of woman he is looking for. He said, “The biggest thing for me is I want someone who’s really compassionate and kind to everyone that they’re around. I feel that’s kind of rare nowadays. I think a lot of people can be really self-involved. So how you treat people on a day-to-day basis is really important to me. I just want someone who is a really kind, compassionate person.”
Zach also noted he plans on being respectful and not play with anyone’s emotions. He said that’s not who he is so he is going to be very respectful of situations that arise while dating so many women at once.
Will Zach’s uncle make another appearance?
Zach was asked how his famous uncle, Patrick Warburton, felt about him being The Bachelor. Zach said his uncle is actually more nervous than he is. He said he was excited for him but also very nervous. In fact, Zach even shared that Patrick was nervous watching himself back on hometown dates.
He also shared that he has already asked his uncle to appear during the season if the opportunity presents itself.
To wrap up, Zach shared what he wants Bachelor Nation to know as he heads into his journey. He said, “I want Bachelor Nation fans to know that I’m taking this opportunity really seriously. Not only do I want to be engaged by the end of this, but I want to find my best friend. That being said, I’m going to do my best to stay true to myself and just hope that it ends the way I want it to. I hope that the person I find that with feels the same way about me that I do about them.”
