Robin Roberts Reveals Mysterious Reason For Her ‘GMA’ Absence
GMA host Robin Roberts has had a scanty appearance on the show in the past week. Even her social media received rare updates on her whereabouts causing fans to worry. However, the 61-year-old finally took to her Instagram account to share details of why she was M.I.A. from GMA.
Robin Roberts Attended The Queen’s Funeral In London
Earlier this week, the newscaster revealed that she had got the opportunity to participate in the live coverage of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral. So, she ditched GMA for a few days to head to London and cover the international funeral.

Revealing the details of the funeral, Robin took to her Instagram and wrote, “Now it’s time to cross the pond and join my amazing @abcnews colleagues in London for our coverage of #queenelizabeth funeral on Monday.”
Robin Roberts Is Taping For Turning The Tables Season 2
However, on Friday, Robin revealed that she was away from NYC and had actually flown out to LA for another gig. She took to her Instagram account and penned in the caption, “In LA to begin taping Season 2 of Turning The Tables for @disneyplus. My office in NYC reached out to let me know today we received our Emmy for Season 1!”
“What timing! Wishing all a blessed weekend,” she continued.

Along with this caption, Robin also posted a picture of her award engraved, “2021-2022 Daytime Emmy Awards.”
As per The Sun, this award was for an Outstanding Informative Talk Show, Turning The Tables with Robin Roberts on Disney+. The bottom portion of the award had the host’s name with her title on the show: “Robin Roberts, Executive Producer.”
Fans Congratulate The Newscaster For Her Latest Emmy Achievement
Fans congratulated Robin on her latest achievement and even sent well-wishes as she starts shooting the next season of the series. In the show, Robin sits down with different women from Hollywood to discuss their careers and the journey they have had.

In the first season of the show, she conversed with stars such as Raven-Symone, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jenna Dewan, Debbie Allen, and others. While she is in LA, she will also meet up with her fellow GMA colleague who is in the same place but for another project.
Robin Roberts Will Meet Up With Sam Champion While In LA
Sam Champion, who is a meteorologist for GMA is currently on the west coast filming for Dancing With The Stars. Confirming their meet-up, Rubem Robierb, Sam’s husband commented on Robin’s post. He wrote, “Congratulations my dear friend!! @samchampion and I can’t wait to see you!!”

On Thursday’s episode, Amy Robach filled in for Robin. However, she wasn’t the only one missing in action. Before Amy Robach, Cecilia Vega had been filling up with Robin during her absence. George Stephanopoulos was also absent from his seat on the show. However, he did return to the show on Friday.
