‘Bofuri’ Anime Season 2: Release Date, Trailer, & More
Based on a Japanese light novel series penned by Yuumikan, Bofuri was serialized by Yen Press in the English language. With a total of 14 volumes, the novel was later on adapted as an anime TV series. The first season of the series premiered on January 8, 2022, and was directed by Shin Oonuma and Mirai Minato. With a total of 12 episodes in Season 1, this comedy anime immediately found a place in fans’ hearts.
Now, the series is renewed for another season which is slated to premiere soon. So, when does Bofuri Season 2 premiere? Keep reading to find out more!
When Is Bofuri Anime Season 2 Premiere Date?
As per Anime Corner, Studio Silver Link is also coming back to produce Season 2 that trails Maple’s adventures.

Apart from Shin Oonuma, other staff members returning for the series include:
- Fumihiko Shimo as series composer
- Kazuya as chief animation director and character designer
- Hiroyuki Honda as Hirata’s chief animation Director
- Taro Masuda as music producer
Bofuri Season 2 is slated to premiere in January 2023 but no official date has been announced as of now. For fans that haven’t yet watched the first season, it is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.

The official synopsis of the anime series reads:
“IS SHE THE GAME’S LAST BOSS?! Though she doesn’t play many MMOs, Maple has either a natural talent or impossibly good luck, because by pouring every last stat point she has into Vitality, she’s created a character who can’t be hurt! Whether it’s physical attacks or magic or status effects, nothing poses a real threat. In no time at all, news spreads across the server about the adorable terror who can’t be defeated. While Maple may just be having fun, her broken build is sure to attract lots of unexpected attention…”
Bofuri Season 2 Brings Back Several Characters From Season 1
The returning cast for Season 2 includes Ruriko Noguchi as Sally, Kaede Hondo as Maple (the lead character), Saori Hayami as Kasumi, and many more.

The story revolves around Kaede Honjo who gets invited by her friend Risa Shiramine to participate in a virtual reality MMO game. Although she doesn’t dislike games in general, she truly dislikes being in pain. So, she decides to create a virtual character named Maple. And, she puts all her points in virtual reality to help minimize pain. Consequently, she fails to use her magic and even a silly rabbit can easily wear her down.

However, she does acquire a special skill termed Absolute Defense which is a result of her pumping so many points into the VIT. She also masters a counter-skill that can help work against others’ special moves. Given her abilities, she can now nullify any damages done to her and venture on her adventures.
