‘DWTS’: Selma Blair Moves Audience Members To Tears
Selma Blair has struggled with MS for the past few years, but that isn’t stopping her from living her dreams. She’s ready to show Dancing With The Stars viewers exactly how tough she is.
If the actress struggled in the rehearsal room or felt pain while performing, she definitely didn’t let it show. In fact, she wowed the judges, audience members, and even other contestants. By the end of her performance, there was hardly a dry eye in the building.
Keep reading to learn more about the spectacular routine she and her partner Sasha Farber came up with.
Actress Selma Blair leaves the audience in tears after her performance
Selma Blair is well-known for her roles in popular movies such as Cruel Intentions and Legally Blonde. But now, she’s up for a brand new challenge. She and her partner Sasha Farber performed the Viennese waltz to “Time of My Life” by David Cook last night. And it’s a performance that audience members are going to be talking about for quite some time.
The judges gave her a combined score of 28 and felt completely moved by her performance. Carrie Ann Inaba also struggles with autoimmune diseases and completely understood what Selma feels. The judge broke down in tears while congratulating the actress on a job well done.
Selma also began to tear up as the judges handed out their scores and said she was very grateful for the opportunity to perform for them.
Fans that have access to Disney+ will be able to rewatch the performance as many times as they would like. Sadly, it doesn’t appear as if the show will upload performances to the official YouTube channel. Many fans are disappointed but aren’t surprised now that the show is on a paid streaming platform.
Selma did upload her own performance to her Instagram channel, so fans can take a peek and see.
The Cruel Intentions star has overcome so much to be in the ballroom today
Before Season 31 debuted, Selma Blair previously said that she was blessed to be part of Dancing With The Stars this year.
“Walking is much harder for me than when I can get into the groove of settling into dance and fluidity,” the Legally Blonde actress told Entertainment Tonight in an interview. “This is an amazing lesson to use my emotions and body together to unite a little more with the support of Sasha and music.”
“This isn’t about a dance competition for me personally,” Sasha added during the interview. “I want Selma to improve and to grow.”
Selma Blair didn’t just perform well for someone with MS — she performed better than many of the other contestants. After the first night finished, she tied for third with several other couples.
At the end of the night, Jason Lewis and Peta Murgatroyd went home. It’s always sad when someone has to leave, but there can only be one champion at the end of the season.
