On Monday Deadline announced that Alison Sweeney has signed a multi-picture deal with Hallmark Media. Lisa Hamilton Daly, EVP Programming At Hallmark Media pointed out that the Days Of Our Lives alum is more than an actress, but a talented producer as well.
“Alison Sweeney has been an incredible creative partner for us over the years – both on screen as well as behind the camera as a producer.
She’s long been a fan favorite, and we can’t wait to continue our work together as we bring new stories to life.”

Sweeney has been acting nearly all of her life, starting at the age of 4. When she was 16, she starred as Sami Brady on Days Of Our Lives for over two decades. In addition, she hosted over a dozen seasons of The Biggest Loser.

DOOL Star Produced A Magical Christmas Village With Luke Macfarlane
The first movie on Alison Sweeney’s multi-picture contract with Hallmark is A Magical Christmas Village. She stars and executive produces this upcoming movie. Moreover, she stars alongside Luke Macfarlane, who earlier in the year, signed his own deal, as well as That Girl’s Marlo Thomas. This movie will air during Countdown To Christmas 2022. Best of all, it has Christmas magic!
In A Magical Christmas Village, Alison portrays Summer, an architect who lives in a small town with her daughter Chloe (Maesa Nicholson).
However, their cozy and predictable lives are now in turmoil because Summer’s mother Vivian (Thomas) needs a place to live. While settling in, Vivian sets up a miniature Christmas village that just so happens to look like their small town. Moreover, Vivian tells Chloe that this heirloom grants Christmas wishes.
Chloe plays along and sets up the village figurines, and soon what happens in the village happens in real life. That includes Summer’s meet-cute with Ryan (Macfarlane) the new guy in town.
Will Alison Sweeney Make Another Mystery?
One question that is not answered in this new announcement is whether or not Alison Sweeney will make another Hallmark mystery. She has starred in two series, Chronicle Mysteries, as well as Hannah Swensen Mysteries, formerly known as Murder She Baked.
There was a 2021 release of the latter. However, it has been 18 months since she and Benjamin Ayres starred in a new episode of the podcast murder mystery series. Unlike many of the other Hallmark Mysteries that were based on cozy mystery books, Sweeney worked with writer Melissa Salmons to custom create a whole new series. Salmon and Sweeney were executive producers of the series.
In the past year, Hallmark has been whittling down their mysteries and starting to create new series altogether. However, the Good Morning Christmas! star has not said anything about either series. We can only surmise that they are in limbo like most of the mystery series.
