NCIS Season 20 is premiering soon, and fans of the series want to know whether an old favorite will be returning. It has been over three years since Cote de Pablo reprised her role as Ziva David. Could she be back?
Where Is Cote de Pablo’s Ziva David From NCIS?
NCIS is premiering an incredible Season 20. Over the years, there have been many memorable characters and storylines. However, one of the most popular ever has been Ziva David portrayed by Cote de Pablo.
Ziva was the kick-butt agent who was a former Mossad agent, with a very complicated family history. Her flirty banter with fellow agent Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) added to the excitement of the character.
Yet, where has Cote de Pablo been in the past few years? Moreover, could she return to NCIS for Season 20?
What Has Cote de Pablo Done Since Leaving CBS Series?
According to IMDb, her most recent project is a short called The Crossing. In the six years between NCIS appearances, Cote de Pablo was in a few projects including a television limited series called The Dovekeepers, and the TV movie, Prototype.
However, in 2018, Deadline did report that Cote and Michael Weatherly were reuniting to executive produce, MIA. This was to be a CBS detective drama from Shepard Boucher (Upload), who is both a writer and executive producer.
However, nothing new has come from this endeavor.
Will NCIS Finally Get Their Tiva Reunion?
There is no doubt that the top two things on NCIS fan’s wishlist are the return of Mark Harmon as Leroy Jethro Gibbs, and the reunion of Tony and Ziva. They have been waiting for nearly a decade for that to appear onscreen.
Now that Michael Weatherly’s show Bull is done, does this mean that he could guest star on the series? When TVLine asked showrunner Steven D. Binder, he did not seem to indicate that Weatherly would be returning anytime soon.
“I’ve known him for a while and I think he needs to chill and go someplace tropical. I haven’t spoken to him about that but we’ve talked over the years, and that’s my guess.”
Does this mean no? Not even close. One thing that NCIS loves to do is surprise fans. Moreover, there were no questions asked about a possible reunion, or whether Cote de Pablo is willing and interested in returning to the series.
One thing is for sure, if the writers can come up with a good reason to have the two reunite, they have a chance of making this happen.
Don’t miss the premiere of NCIS Season 20 on Monday, September 19, at 9 p.m., Eastern, on CBS. This is a crossover episode, therefore right afterward, NCIS Hawaii Season 2 premiere is at 10 p.m., Eastern.
