‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Pat Sajak Says His Days Are Numbered

As much as they love him, Wheel of Fortune fans know Pat Sajak can’t host the game show forever. When will he leave the show is a question fans both want and don’t want to be answered. Considering he’s 75 years old, WoF fans, however, do understand he may want to retire as a game show host and spend what time he has left relaxing. Does he have plans to leave Wheel of Fortune? Will the game show go on without him? Here’s what we know.

Wheel of Fortune: Pat Sajak quitting soon?

In an interview with ET, Pat Sajak hints he won’t be around to host Wheel of Fortune much longer. Turns out, the game show host wants fans to know, “the end is near.” While Pat Sajak was not the original host of Wheel of Fortune, he has hosted the show for over four decades. He first stepped into the role back in 1981. So, it is understandably difficult for viewers to picture the game show without Pat Sajak. That being said, viewers of Jeopardy! felt the same way about Alex Trebek who passed away last year.

During his interview, Pat Sajak points out that he isn’t going to live for another 40 years. So, there’s no way he’s going to host Wheel of Fortune for another 40 years. The end of his time hosting the game show is near, and he wants fans to prepare for that.

Years go by fast. We’re getting near the end. It’s been a long [time]. We’re not gonna do this for another 40 years. The end is near. It’s an honor to have been in people’s living rooms for that long. People were out there welcoming us. We’re happy and proud.”

What is he working on right now?

Presently, Pat Sajak is preparing for Celebrity Wheel of Fortune which is slated to premiere on Sunday, September 25th along with the new Celebrity Jeopardy! Vanna White will be hosting Season 3 of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune alongside Pat Sajak. She admitted to ET she was thrilled to see Snoop Dog on the show. She explained that many years ago Snoop Dog told her he was a fan of hers. So, she hopes to find out if he’s still a fan.

In general, Vanna White is also just looking forward to seeing how the Season 3 of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune will play out.
