Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird Is ‘Corny’ For College Tuition
Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird has had a lot of life changes in the last year. First off, she gained sole custody of her younger sister, Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson in April 2022. Then, the following month, she and her husband, Josh welcomed twins into their family. It has been quite a financial struggle and now, Pumpkin is taking a big step in helping her family. Read on to find out what she is doing to secure her kids’ future.
Pumpkin Gets ‘Corny’ For A Cause
Just a short time after Pumpkin welcomed her son, Bentley, she and her family were exposed to Covid through her mother. Mama June had been traveling extensively and then made a surprise visit at Alana’s birthday. It was then discovered June had the virus and so did Pumpkin, Josh, and their two kids. For some reason, Pumpkin could not take her birth control and found out she was pregnant once again. This time, it was twins. Unfortunately, she and her family has been struggling financially ever since.

They have been hustling on social media, promoting meet and greets and Cameo appearances but now, she has found something new. On TikTok, she found a #DrPepperTuitionContest. Pumpkin proceeded to put on a corn filter and sing It’s Corn as she held one of the twins. She was beaming as she mouthed the words in hopes it would garner attention and win her the contest. According to the rules, the cola is giving away over 650K in tuition.
To enter, one must upload a video to help them get to know the entrant along with their dreams, goals, and “professional aspirations.” It is unclear just who she actually entered for or how her love of corn follows these rules. Maybe she is the one who wants a chance at college. That would be interesting to watch if she and Alana were to get their own spinoff.
What’s Next?
Right now, the future of reality television is up in the air for Pumpkin, Alana, and Mama June. Fans have asked that the girls get a show without their mother. Apparently, they had a meeting about this when they were in California over the summer. However, June was reportedly spotted with a camera crew so there’s a chance Road to Redemption is filming again. The girls are also in the process of fighting an Atlanta Boston Market after it failed to pay them for a meet and greet. Hopefully, Pumpkin has better luck with this contest.
