‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Star Jesse Williams’ Ex Says It’s ‘Receipt Season’
Grey’s Anatomy fans love Jesse Williams for his starring role as the handsome plastics surgeon, Jackson Avery. But there might be more to the actor’s life than meets the eye.
He’s going through a pretty high-profile split from his ex-wife, Aryn Drake-Lee at the moment. And she’s definitely not holding back. Right now, the two find themselves entangled in a messy custody battle. Aryn declared that it’s “receipt season.” Keep reading to see what’s going on.
Jesse Williams and his ex go back to the courtroom
Actor Jessie Williams and Aryn Drake-Lee married in 2012. Together, they have two children: Sadie, 8, and son Maceo, 7. The couple split up in 2020 and now they’re having trouble coming to a custody agreement for the kids.
RadarOnline reports that Jesse Williams asked for an emergency custody hearing recently. His ex-wife reportedly wouldn’t allow their two kids to fly out and see him perform in his Broadway play, Take Me Out.
“I recently agreed to perform in the second run of Take Me Out starting in October 2022 and ending in January 2023,” the Grey’s actor said. “The play is set to start in October 2022 and run through at least January 2023. I am returning to New York in early October to start rehearsals. I asked Aryn to honor the Court’s prior order so I can continue to spend quality time with our children while I am in New York. Aryn refused.”
The actor went on to allege that Aryn’s refusal was causing severe emotional distress to himself and the children.
Aryn Drake-Lee claps back
It seems like the two exes will have to settle this in court. However, Aryn Drake-Lee may just be about to drop a bomb on Jesse Williams.
“Is it good for the health and wellness of a 7yr and 8yr old to be taken out of school on a regular basis to fly cross country overnight on a red eye to be on the ground for two days?” Aryn posted on Instagram this week. “Is it reasonable for them to return dazed and confused and then be expected to pick right up and survive at school the rest of the week? I don’t think so! Neither do any of the parents who actually parent on a routine basis. There’s a name for the condition of an adult who expects their children to indulge, caregive and service that adult’s desires at the childrens’ expense… #receiptsseason #ihavestayedquietforfartoolong”
Without a doubt, this is one developing story that will have updates soon. Grey’s Anatomy is going to return this October. Jesse Williams may no longer have a starring role, but it’s possible he could always make cameos. Ellen Pompeo is expected to have a more limited role this season, so anything is possible.
