Kelly Ripa Pregnant With Baby #4 At 51?
LIVE with Kelly and Ryan host Kelly Ripa revealed that she was convinced she was pregnant with her fourth child during the pandemic. At 51, it would seem unlikely that she would have another baby, but she shared why she was so convinced during a live show. Here’s what she had to say.
Kelly Ripa’s Tell-All Book Debuts This Month
Kelly Ripa has been working on her own memoir and it will be released on September 27. Live Wire: Long-Winded Short Stories is a collection of funny, real – and sometimes traumatic – stories from Kelly’s life. It shows her ability to laugh at anything, even herself.

Anyone writing a memoir has to take time to think about what will and will not be included in the book. For Kelly Ripa, this meant talking about her marriage to Mark Consuelos, her family, her career, and some of the smaller, funny moments in her life.
She recounts the moment she and her husband met, how difficult it was on the set of All My Children at the beginning, and countless moments of utter embarrassment. Ripa told Haute Living about one instance, in particular, that shook her during the pandemic.
Why This Made It Into Her Memoir
When talking about what events in her life would make it into the memoir, and which wouldn’t, Ripa said there were a few things that had to make the cut. She absolutely had to include the “time during the pandemic where I thought my husband got me pregnant.”
She started taking pregnancy tests every day, convinced each one was a false negative. Consuelos, her husband of 26 years, suggested there could be other reasons for her missed period. At the time, Ripa could not fathom any other reason for it. Her husband gently explained that she may be experiencing menopause.

“He really had to walk on eggshells here,” Ripa said. Of course, no woman wants to hear she is going through “the change.” However, she was admittedly relieved that they wouldn’t have to plan for another addition to the family. Kelly and Mark already have three children – Michael, 25, Lola, 21, and Joaquin, 19. Explaining to her grown children that they had a new sibling on the way was a headache Kelly didn’t want.
The pandemic pregnancy scare isn’t the only mention of her relationship with Mark or their sex lives in the memoir either. In fact, Kelly decided to include details about a time she passed out while having sex with her husband. She then woke up in the ER in a French-cut leotard and high heels. Ripa truly holds nothing back in the book.
