Whoopi Goldberg was missing from the panel of The View on Friday. While many fans expected to see all six women on stage for the first time in the new season, Whoopi was nowhere to be found. Her absence during the first week back, in addition to recent career announcements, have viewers wondering if she will appear on the talk show less. Keep reading to see what’s next for Whoopi and The View.

New Hosts Added To The Panel

Season 26 of The View kicked off on Tuesday after the Labor Day holiday. Alyssa Farah Griffin made her debut as one of the new hosts on the show during the first episode of the new season. It was announced that Griffin was named as a new co-host in early August.

Around the same time, it was announced that Ana Navarro would be joining the hosting panel permanently as well. Navarro joined the table for Season 26 on Friday. However, Whoopi’s presence was missed.

More recently, Whoopi was absent from Friday episodes. Furthermore, it appears that this trend will continue into the new season. Many fans have speculated that this means she is getting ready to leave the daytime talk show.

Her fellow co-hosts talked about other projects that Whoopi is working on right now, which may be taking some of her attention away from the show. Does that mean she’s leaving The View?

Is Whoopi Goldberg Leaving The View?

For now, there are no plans for Whoopi Goldberg to leave The View. In fact, she has signed a contract to be on the show for a few more years. However, that doesn’t mean she can’t make her own schedule or work on new projects though.

Currently, Whoopi is lending her vocal talent to a new fictional podcast called Past My Bedtime: An Oral History of The Fastest Failure in Late Night History. She is signed on to perform 10 episodes and the podcast debuts on November 3. Other names working on the project include David Harbour, Zach Galifianakis, Jenny Slate, Nick Kroll, Seth Meyers, and Tim Robinson.

More so, this isn’t the first time Whoopi has ditched The View and its fans for other projects either. She shamelessly plugs what she’s working on during the show all the time.

In recent seasons, the host has seemed more and more distracted, calling guests and even co-hosts by the wrong name in some cases. Just last week, she tried to end one of the live shows 20 minutes early. Her actions have caused many fans to call for her to be replaced or simply focus a little bit on the talk show.

Unfortunately for some, Whoopi Goldberg doesn’t have any plans of leaving The View any time soon though. What do you think? Should Whoopi focus on one project or give more attention to The View? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

  1. As long as you have the Same view as them, your fine, if not, you are attacked. Ruthlessly! Who would want to go on that show? Seriously. Whoopi needs to move on for sure. She’s lost total perspective and that goes for the rest of them.

  2. Whoopi is a legend and Hollywood royalty. She should be able to plan and live her best life. If she needs some time away from the View to pursue other career opportunities, why shouldn’t she?

  3. WHOOPI GOLDBERG should be allowed to express her opinions that caused her to be hired. She thinks and expresses her opinions, that’s why she was hired.
