News, Talk Shows

The View host Whoopi Goldberg tried to shut down the show early. She signed off by saying: “Whatever!” She thanked the audience and viewers at home for watching. Yet, there was still “plenty of show” to come. Read on to learn more and to see what happened.

Whoopi Goldberg sends panelists spiraling

On Thursday’s episode of The View, Whoopi Goldberg sent her co-hosts in a spiral. The Oscar winner took it upon herself to end the show early. This comes after Season 26 premiered this week. During that episode, Whoopi thanked everyone for watching and tried to close down the show.

“I want to say you all have been a great audience,” Whoopi Goldberg said. “We love that you’re watching, have a great day.”

Her co-hosts looked at her in confusion. “No? No?” they said as they nervously laughed. Joy Behar advised Whoopi to look at the teleprompter. “Look what it says. We’ve got more show, we’re not done.”

Whoopi Goldberg looked down at her notes. She frowned as she wanted to close the show out. Sara Haines covered her laugh with her hands. “We’re back in the groove!” Sunny Hostin chimed in and said.

Whoopi decided to move things forward with the show. “All right, whatever! We’ll be back,” she added.

The wild decision had the show in a tailspin. On Tuesday, September 6, The View returned for its 26th season. Whoopi made another spontaneous move earlier this week.

She shut down her co-hosts as she sent the show into a commercial break. Whoopi was upset that she couldn’t get a word in edgewise. They were talking about family members who have opposing political views.

The conversation derailed into an NSFW discussion about dating someone who’s on the other side of the political spectrum. Whoopi Goldberg forfeited and sent the show into a commercial break.

The View Season 26 premiere

Over the summer, The View announced that Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin would join a year after Meghan McCain’s exit in August 2021. Ana was the first co-host to join in 2013. She’s been a regular part of the panel since 2018.

Alyssa worked for the former Trump administration. The show also returned with Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, and Sunny Hostin. Fans are looking forward to seeing how the new season will unfold. So far, it’s had a lot of unexpected moments and outrage from fans. As TV Shows Ace previously reported, they weren’t happy when Hillary and Chelsea Clinton were the guests this week.
