Early this morning, all news outlets reported that Queen Elizabeth’s health was on the decline. Of course, fans of the royal family were immediately concerned. However, there was one elephant in the room that could not be ignored. Would her grandson, Harry, and his wife, Meghan rush to be by the Queen’s bedside during this time? Read on for all of the details.

Family Gathers For Queen Elizabeth

As news broke that the matriarch was not doing well, her family began to make the trek to be with her. This statement was released from Buckingham Palace: “Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision. The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.” Such news is a major blow to the royal family who recently gathered for the Queen’s Jubilee. Apparently, she canceled a Zoom event last night which was the first sign that there was a problem.

Then, the statement led to more concern that she was sicker than anyone led on. Soon, the family was gathering at Balmoral in Scotland. Prince William, son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana was seen driving. He was escorting his uncle to the hospital. As for his younger brother Harry, he was in fact on his way to see his grandmother, as well.

A Sad Passing

At 96 years young, Queen Elizabeth passed away this afternoon. According to the official royal website: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.” It is unclear who was actually by her bedside as she passed but  Harry was still en route to be with her. The family struggled to come together after Harry and Meghan stepped back from their royal duties in order to live a “normal life” in California. They were big into humanitarian work and it did cause a wedge between Harry and the royals.

However, he did always adore his grandmother as well as his grandfather, who passed away just last year at the age of 99. As of now, the transition of power will go to Harry’s father, Charles, and his wife Camila. The funeral for Queen Elizabeth should be quite a sight to see. No word if Harry and Meghan’s two children will attend. Undoubtedly, the family will have some beautiful memories to share. Rest in peace and fly high.
