The couple considered getting an SUV but discovered there was no way they could have afforded one. Surprisingly, they were able to afford a Tesla. Travis explained that it is a base model with a white interior. They traded in his old BMW and he claimed that he got a good deal on the Tesla.

On Reddit, fans were shocked to hear the news that Katie and Travis had purchased a Tesla. Many are curious to know how the couple afforded the car. One fan asked, “With what money?! I don’t understand them!”
Others think that Travis’ family might have helped them buy this car. There is speculation that Travis’ grandfather paid for at least part of his and Katie’s home, though that’s unconfirmed.
However, some Bringing Up Bates fans pointed out that used base model Teslas can be found for less than SUVs. One Reddit user said, “My brand new SUV and truck cost the same or more than a Tesla depending on the trim.” Another added that Teslas can be found for under $40,000 in some places.
Someone else argued, “To a lot of people that is very expensive.”
To make a living, Travis has a sales job, which he hasn’t said much about. The couple also makes money from YouTube and Instagram. So, somehow, they are making enough to afford a Tesla now and a new baby next year. The Bringing Up Bates stars also recently bred their Goldendoodle, which can bring in a huge amount of money.

I think people should just be happy for them and it is none of their business how they make their money that should be private. They should not judge them.
I agree with you Cindy. Just because they were on TV doesn’t give people the right to know all aspects of their lives especially money. I’m for one very happy for them. I guess people don’t realize that Katie had gone into business with her sister Josie doing wedding makeup and hair and that is very lucrative!! People need to stop being so nosy!
